Remarks:
Map of part of central Auckland, London, 1842 (BPP).
This interesting plan of the eastern side of the
central Auckland city area emphasizes the line of the original
shoreline which is today a considerable distance behind
reclaimed land. The un-named stream which is shown running the
length of lower Queen Street and turning east became known as the
Ligar Canal.
